eLearning Glossary – E, as in...

Welcome to the fifth part of our blog series eLearning Glossary! In this instalment, we turn our attention to the letter E, which stands for several key concepts in the world of eLearning: edu-tainment, bespoke content, reflecting individuality in digital learning, and eLearning itself.

Psst… just a little side note: We choose our glossary terms based on the first letter of the original German words. So don’t be surprised if the English version features slightly different terms than the title might suggest.

Edu-Tainment

Edu-tainment is a portmanteau of the words “education” and “entertainment”. And that’s exactly what it delivers: learning that’s engaging, fun and varied.

Its goal is to make complex content more accessible within learning contexts, while boosting motivation through interactive and entertaining formats. This can include anything from quizzes and educational games to full gamification approaches.

Bespoke Content

Every organisation is unique – just like its training and development needs. That’s why we focus on tailored eLearning courses and offer our clients more than just off-the-shelf solutions. We create customised learning content that’s precisely aligned with their requirements.

Our Learning Management System (LMS) allows for:

  • upload and integration of your own content (e.g. policies, presentations, case studies),
  • adaptation of existing courses to meet company-specific guidelines,
  • consulting and implementation of bespoke training projects.

eLearning

eLearning, also written as e-learning or eLearning, stands for “electronic learning”: a form of learning that uses electronic or digital media to deliver or present content.

It is a modern approach to training, offering interactive online courses that let you decide when and where you wish to learn.
