Authoring Tool

An authoring tool is software designed for creating and editing digital learning content and eLearning courses. Modern authoring tools offer a wide range of features, including:

• Collaborative functions: Enabling multiple authors to work together, version control, and feedback options.
• Content creation and editing: Integration of text, images, graphics, audio and video files, as well as interactive elements.
• Interactive elements: Incorporation of quizzes and gamification elements to enhance learning motivation.
• Publishing and export: Exporting content in various formats and seamless integration into Learning Management Systems (LMS).

When selecting an authoring tool, factors such as compatibility, usability, feature variety, and support should be considered.

Authoring Software

This term is often used synonymously with "authoring tool". It refers to software solutions designed for creating digital learning content. These tools enable authors to develop multimedia and interactive educational resources without requiring in-depth programming knowledge.
